Ask HN: Who’s enjoying the “Last of Us” TV show?
It’s so realistic and the character development is on point. I’ve never played the game but now I might. Those watching, what are your thoughts?
- newaccount2021 4y agoits okay so far...is anything really happening? I enjoyed the episode with Nick Offerman, but it seem self-contained otherwise, we've got two people driving around CG dystopia wreckage and having encounters...but there isn't much plot or character development the main characters seem stereotypical...the precocious smartass teen, the grizzled older guy...I'm waiting for something to arrive, hopefully it will
- linsomniac 4y agoNothing you've said is wrong, but episode 3 (the Offerman one mentioned above) is one of the best things I've ever seen.
- bruceb 4y agoFor all the hype it seems pretty generic zombie show. I saw first 2 episodes and stopped. The very fast and hard to kill zombie is just to much get over. They get infected manage to keep living and be in peak athletic form and some how don’t stop even after getting shot multiple times? Can only suspend belief so much when watching a show. If HBO can rehash what has been done before and make money why do something better I guess.
- AA-BA-94-2A-56 4y agoIt's just a top-quality zombie flick. Zombie films, just as any other good stories, have always been a vehicle to tell stories about the human condition. This show does it really well. It has excellent writing, soundtrack, casting, set and makeup design. It's entertaining. Like quality software, many quality stories don't seek to reinvent the wheel. The Last of Us is one of those stories.
