Trying to reason with a side that is unable to take a joke or understand satire is futile. It is their way or the highway, no in-between. And unfortunately they've become the gatekeepers of all things in tech and media, so their messages is over-amplified in comparison to their numbers, they think they are in the right and won't take consideration for anyone that disagrees. We all enabled this behaviour, we are at fault.
