I think this is a transitional phase. If remote work takes over, there will be a rise of co working spaces for mates to work in together. Young people will use them to find friends and partners, and young parents will use them to share babysitting shifts with other young parents. That will actually be better for social life, because people won't need to lose touch when they change jobs. People were stuck at home by the pandemic, not by remote work.
