Bill Gates would rather pay for vaccines than travel to Mars
- nhchris 4y agoActions speak louder than words - he did the exact opposite, and lobbied to keep vaccines out of public ownership: A few weeks later, Oxford—urged on by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation—reversed course. It signed an exclusive vaccine deal with AstraZeneca that gave the pharmaceutical giant sole rights and no guarantee of low prices—with the less-publicized potential for Oxford to eventually make millions from the deal and win plenty of prestige. https://khn.org/news/rather-than-give-away-its-covid-vaccine-oxford-makes-a-deal-with-drugmaker/ https://khn.org/news/rather-than-give-away-its-covid-vaccine...
- smcn 4y agoHis most recent AMA on Reddit was amazing just for how many people are now pushing back against him and his ilk but this point was raised to him here: https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/109eze3/comment/j3xzm9s/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 https://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/109eze3/comment/j3xzm... He denies it of course.
- melling 4y agoHe did the “exact opposite“? Can someone expand on this? He said he would rather pay $1000…. Was he advocating one thing then did another? I don’t see, at least in this story, where he was advocating anything.
