Why would startups requiring a ton of GPU compute use AWS or GCP, unless they received extraordinary discounts? I have never used them, but I once did a price comparison with AWS and Lambda Labs, and it didn’t look good for AWS. There must be many smaller providers that offer better rates, or self-host.

- mkl95 4y agoI don't work with GPU based stuff, but I work with some convoluted lambda based systems that are kinda expensive. You could literally replace all of them with a $5/month VPS (several orders of magnitude cheaper), or an equivalent Lightsail instance. You would go with Lightsail if you care about some SLA.
