I guess the blessings path works religiously because it doesn't recognize the relationship fully as a marriage. Gay people are fine, them having relationships is fine (hence worth blessing), them having marriages is not because marriages are religiously defined as between a man and a woman (hence they can't marry - the state might label their relationship a marriage but the church doesn't. Not sure how much the CoE is on the "for the creation of children" angle, but that's not strictly enforced anyways because I don't think any major christian branch does refuse marriage to infertile people).

So if it's ok with me to have a marriage relationship with a non female god, then surely it's ok to have the same with a man. Also does the Bible say a marriage has to be between a man and a woman? Or just husband and wife, if so can't one of the couple be deemed to be a wife. Ultimately they can make up any old rubbish to justify the position but it's still internally inconsistent. As you point out infertile people can get married, and the CofE is fine with condoms etc.
