I think your first point on limiting productivity is true only early on (or at least it was in my case) and when working alone. I pretty confident that this would go away if you write Rust for a few weeks. I remember when first learning C, I struggled with some things too, but then they just clicked. It's probably similar when learning any new language (especially if they add something novel)
