That’s not the fundamental formulation which does not require statistical mechanics. Anybody saying entropy is very easy to understand doesn’t understand it.

- krastanov 4y agoIt is more about the fact that there are two "equally fundamental" explanations, and saying there is only one is a great disservice to the curious mind: the most fascinating and deep insights about entropy come from understanding how the two definitions are equivalent.
