While you're correct that 9/11 caused issues I think you're conflating things incorrectly here. I don't see anti-China policies being used to justify crack downs on freedoms like was done after 9/11. Perhaps that's coming, but we should be concerned about that when it happens. We absolutely however need to be careful about what China is trying to do by basically bifricating the world into authoritarian and democratic world orders. It's absolutely their stated goal to create a bi-polar world and thus re-create cold war conditions.
