  the last 50 companies you bought left their mark, their processes were integrated slightly differently, the tech stack has been piling up for the last 50 years. Some business processes involve human entry and are thus faulty, other business processes exchange data via pretty unstructured pathways. You may receive some data from a supplier only in PDF format, etc. Even if there are standard interfaces and APIs to supply data to, each and every engineer doing the integration will fill the fields differently.

    It's easy to see how this is a huge issue. I'd like to learn more, would you know who usually deals with this problems in these companies? Is this a COO/CIO thing?
