There is nothing intelligent about ChatGPT, it's just a statistical trick, no understanding, no unique ideas. It's this years's self driving car.
Speaking of which, I'm been waiting for my self driving car since 1982. At this rate better make it a hearse.

Everyone will sit here making a few hundred grand a year and tell themselves it’s because of their original ideas. It honestly probably isn’t. New automated systems that create immense value are worth a bit of fanfare. Self-driving has a fairly uniquely harsh failure mode that means that a worthwhile implementation has to be rock solid. And frankly we’re all sick of hearing Elon Musk pretend otherwise. Outside of self-driving, ‘less than perfect AI’ has wayyyy more opportunity to provide net value. Not being able to see this difference is comparing surface-level properties of two things and drawing a conclusion. The sort of stuff this current generation of AI can do fairly well.
