I remember this when I was a kid. Most amazing was that the federal goverment didn't had a protocol to deal with things like that, even at the time we where building our second nuclear power plant.
But the military was aable to perform a fast response for the incident. And shows that even if nuclear energy is the future, we could never understimate it.

- igortg 4y agoBrazil has only 3 nuclear power plants. The accident occurred when the second one was being built.
- ElectricalUnion 4y agoBrazil has only 2 nuclear power plants. The third planned one has large funding issues and construction is on-hold.
- major505 4y agoYes. Angra 1 and Angra 2. The only company that had the know how in constructions like that was involved in the Petrolão, the scandal involving bribes and and money laundry in contructions for the country national oil company, and the company was basically nuked. Now chinese contruction companies are taking the place in the market.
