I’d say that this is less “how fangs work” and more “what gangs are like in 2023”. If you look at the devs hired per Q stats for your company I’m willing to bet that seeing mostly people with 2yoe will suddenly start to make more sense. My personal theory is that the MBAs discount how much this messes with quality engineering culture, and have no idea what they’re doing by running teams with one experienced manager, one senior, and a bunch of excited juniors.
