You know what Al Bundy is, but you don't know "Seinfeld" except from "on the web"? And then you search for it and post a YouTube vid here? I don't believe it.

- 10729287 4y agoMarried with Children was huge here in France but Seinfeld never made it to the mainstream as it was aired on subscription TV
- detaro 4y agoI think similarly in Germany
- conradfr 4y agoIt's true (although it was broadcasted uncrypted) but with YouTube, Netflix or ... the internet in general it's hard to think someone really has no idea what/who Seinfeld is.
- 10729287 4y agoI didn't remember it was broadcasted uncrypted. Maybe it was airing too late for 10yo me ? By the way, while everyone here in France know Friends or How I met Your Mother, despite being available on Netflix i'm not sure way more people know Seinfeld nowadays than in the 90s. One must admit it's pretty hard to get into it 30 years after as it aged a little and it never got it primes here.
- Shorel 4y agoI've read about it, it's referenced everywhere, I've seen YouTube videos of the actor refusing a hug from a fan. But I never saw an episode of it when it was on, or 20 years later. It was just not available.
- philliphaydon 4y agoI’ve watched every episode of married with children. But I’ve never watched Seinfeld. Only clipped shared on Instagram and even then I skip over them…
- sschueller 4y agoMarried with children was very popular in Germany because of how well it was translated. Seinfeld was also translated but it was awfully done so people didn't watch it and it stopped running on tv. Knight Rider was also very popular and the acting was way better than the original because of the translators. It is quite interesting what effect dubbing of movies and tv shows can have on the perception of it.
- Shorel 4y agoI have never seen it. Probably the first sitcom I watched was... Friends. Different generations watch different things.
