Court in Italy rules in favour of children who do not want to see grandparents
- Waterluvian 4y agoMakes sense. The question is “do grandparents have a right to see their grandchildren?” It seems quite clear the answer should be no. You don’t have a genealogical right to other people’s time.
- pestatije 4y agoThen you also have to tell about the father or the mother...i can't believe the way people expose their thinking
- Waterluvian 4y agoThe legal guardians who aren’t always the biological mother or father? What about them?
- pestatije 4y agoNo, the father or the mother...not the legal guardians
- olliej 4y agoOk so isn't "parents can't force children to see grandparents", the actual question is "can grandparents force a child's parents to let them see the child". There are some parents who don't want to have their children spend time with their grandparents due to some kind of family conflict, and their children also don't want to see their grandparents. A lower court decided that they should be able to force the children to spend time with the grandparents (there's a reference to a 2006 law that says parents can't prevent their children from seeing their grandparents, so maybe the lower court decided that the reverse also applies?) and this higher court said no.
