BMW Owner Discovers Car’s Software Update Won’t Install When Parked on Incline

Me: Start explaining why this is such a ridiculous yet totally believable bug, while skimming article, then say "Oh, it's on purpose" and why. Wife: That kind of makes sense Me: Yeah, but it means if you live in San Fransisco you can't update your car. Wife [who actually did live in SF] "That's not true--there are lots of flat places" and starts rattling off "down by the wharf", "Met museum", "The Embarcadaro", ... "Anybody who actually lives there knows where the flat spots are!" Yeah, now I'm laughing even harder. [Edit: "The parking lot where you get your passport!"] [Edit edit: me: "This is off the front page, but if anybody does see it all the San Fransisco people will start chiming in." her: "Not San Fransisco people, people who live in the city!" Too much for this South Bay person :)]
