Good summary. The RK3588 is great in that it raised the performance bar for the ARM space, but it's still a new platform with growing pains. If it can get good upstream kernel support and the price comes down, these could be good for all the situations where a Pi felt too slow. If instead these continue to rely on custom kernel forks and have 3-digit pricetags, they're probably best left as a niche option.
