The merchant in this analogy is OpenAI not ChatGPT. ChatGPT is the sword.
- astrange 4y agoSure, but I think in this case they're promising the shield will always win. It's other people that might develop AIs that aren't detectable this way. (Actually, OpenAI has said they're trying other ways of making GPT output even more detectable, like watermarking it through specific word choices.)
