They're underpaying artists relative to every other streaming service, so it's no wonder they're able to draw the most users. Spotify doesn't fit my conceptual model for streaming music, but my daughter loves it and has her own account rather than use my family Apple Music account. Primarily I think it's social--seventh graders are all about free Spotify accounts.
