This article misses the key point as to why some people, such as myself, are outraged at this corporate censorship. I absolutely favor the idea that companies just like people should be able to choose who the engage and interact with, but as with anything when that idea moves to far to one end of the spectrum it breaks down. The choice on who businesses want as customers can only extended as far as there are businesses to choose from.
While this article does mentions racism it fails at knowing the lessons of history and why race, among other things, are protected classes that business cannot refuse you on. 100 years ago, it was totally normal for the law to uphold the idea that companies can choose to do business with who they wanted based on skin color or arrange seating etc... It's a private business, a free society must tolerate that some people will be racist. The problem isn't that 1 business in 10 was excluding people based on race it was that 9 in 10 were or even higher. This means that even though individual business were make a free choice the results were that classes of less desirable people were excluded from society and having their voices silenced. There is no freedom if you're not free to participate in the normal activities of the society.
A free society must uphold the freedoms of it's least desirable at times to remain free. The problem isn't that namecheap kicked off a neonazi domain it's the idea that if all registrar's did so they no longer can participate in society. Same with cloudflare, Facebook, Twitter, etc... If your business has stifled the competition to the point you have no meaningful competition then you should not be allowed to exclude people from society.
The funny thing is this is neither a right or left wing issue it always seems to divide based on what's being censored. Because even in a town of 1000 people there's more than one person who decorates cakes.
We cannot forget why some classes became protected in law. Doing so will only cause more problems.
