Uhm, I think you may overestimate a couple of things. ① Economists can measure, they can count, they can make theories about how things relate, but do you really think they have much control? ② They generally work for universities, research institutes, think tanks or in large companies, some of which pay their executives well, but you shouldn't overestimate how they pay their rank and file.

The rich who do have the control along with their friends in politics of course will implement it. >They generally work for universities, research institutes, think tanks or in large companies, some of which pay their executives well, but you shouldn't overestimate how they pay their rank and file. The celebrity economists that work as advisors to power, sell the policies to the masses, etc. are paid enough, and mingle in the same circles as the mid-tier wealth and/or politics powerful. They went to the same universities after all, are friends, and get invited to all kinds of exclusive events. It's not like I was describing some guy teaching Economics 101 at Nebraska State who doesn't even have tenure, or some guy who studied economics and is a n-th tier employee at some think tank...
- Arnt 4y agoYour response brings to mind a... welcome. A greeting you might say. Words spoken when a group of advisors arrived at a committee meeting. An important meeting, policy was made in that room. "Welcome, thank you for taking the time to prepare and speak, we appreciate it and realise that it's gracious of you considering the outcome of last time you were here." The words around gracious are a poor translation, but I'm tired. Anyway, it's easy to believe that some organisations are high in efficiency and low in entropy if one has no personal experience with it. Like, in that organisation some grey-suited person has actual power to change society, efficiently and effectively. Some people believe that kind of thing about armies, some about organisations with carpeted meeting rooms and a nice reception.
