I saw that video of a guy saying very honestly he likes being homeless. He had about $300 per week? from the state. He had a phone with data, a tent and plenty of cash to eat and buy some weed and beer too if he wanted. Edit: you do contribute even if you don't work. You gotta eat and food has taxes in it already. Booze has even more taxes. Etc.
