What popularized the idea of “green” radioactive materials in media?
- defrost 4y agoNice to see a mention of uranium glass [1] which saw a bit of a come back in the Art Glass industry from 1990s onward, it's fun stock to work with although it starts to veer into a ceramic glass with more and more metal additions. [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uranium_glass https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uranium_glass The recent threads on the lost Cs-137 sensor slug in Western Australia outed a lot of odd notions about radioactive materials - most elements have isotopes with varying degrees of radioactivity, many aren't especially dangerous, few glow or are magically visible to satellites, even those in low orbit.
