The challenge that ChatGPT presents is that it is the only technology that appears to threaten Googles search dominance (and thus, ad revenue) in 25 years. It's very wise and appropriate of them to treat this as "code red". MSFT is foaming at the mouth for the opportunity to finally be able to compete with Google search. I think Google comes out unscathed. When their identity is at stake, they'll have no troubles executing.
