A review of My Mind (a second brain tool)
- mikro2nd 4y agoFrom the description in the article, I'd be more inclined to describe this tool as a "Browser Scrapbooking Tool". I saw nothing that would allow me to link clips to each other, tag, group into interest areas, keep detailed provenance or extend. I do agree with the article author on the question of API, and additionally would demand a way to script the tool so that it can ping other tools in my chain. So, as it is, I'd not really think of this as a "Tool for Thought", just a fancy scrapbook. So!... Thanks for a really helpful review. (Seriously!) After reading it I don't need to kick the tyres on this one. That's exactly what a good review should be able to do -- give me enough info to make a decision. We need more like this.

But they are working on a knowledge graph implementation, so I think the product is still evolving. For "Tool for thought", mymind does it very well to to surface photos, videos, colors, anything that is visual. A problem I had with others is, that it's very text heavy and they lack surfacing visual media.
