I have worked with extreme extroverts and extreme introverts. The single biggest lesson on communication I have learnt, is that it is better to be heard than not. The opposite lesson to this is “better to leave people thinking, than open your mouth and confirm your ignorance”. That is false, in all my experience those who open their mouths and are willing to make mistakes, iterate on their ideas and be heard, those people go further.
- solarmist 4y ago"Better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt." I totally agree this is bullshit, but I feel like learning to hear what people are actually saying, not what you expect them to say, and being able to clear up misunderstandings/miscommunication is even more important.
