- virtualritz 4y ago"In the days immediately following MDMA use, many users report experiencing negative after-effects, such as low mood and anxiety, sleep disturbances, or memory problems, known colloquially as the ‘comedown’ or ‘mid-week-blues’. However, the role of MDMA in these effects is unclear, as other factors associated with a night out, such as alcohol consumption, sleep deprivation and disturbance of circadian rhythms, and poor nutrition and hydration, can be major contributors. In contrast, only a small minority of people taking pure, measured doses of lab-grade MDMA in the daytime report experiencing negative physiological and psychological symptoms in the three to five days post-drug." That PDF has sources for these statements. They match with my own experience micro-/minidosing MDMA. I never had any post use blues.
- dns_snek 4y agoThis may be true for responsible users who practice harm reduction, but it won't hold for habitual users or even occasional users taking 2-5x the recommended "safe" amount, which is extremely common with MDMA. You could make similar arguments for almost any drug, most of them will result in worse and longer lasting side effects when they're used habitually or in high doses. I think GP's assertion is generally valid, most MDMA users aren't responsible and there's a lot of work to be done on the harm reduction side of things.
