- grugagag 4y agoYeah, as you get older the payback is in more headache or brainfog or some kind of weakness that goes away eventually but would make life better if the cause is avoided altogether
- 8n4vidtmkvmk 4y agoOnly if you overdo it on the booze I think. 1 or 2 is enough to give me a light buzz with no hangover/regret.
- MonkeyMalarky 4y agoGood for you but there's a lot of us out there who need a bit more. It'd been nice to have a less harmful substitute a la vaping replacing smoking. Coincidentally, I had some ativan the other day for a dental procedure and the after effect was near ideal. Too bad it can't be taken so lightly.
- phendrenad2 4y agoThe trick is to not need it more.
- 8n4vidtmkvmk 4y agoA bit more to get buzzed or too enjoy yourself? You shouldn't feel sick if it's quality beer and you stop before you get plastered. And you drink enough water. I hear "gummies" are a good alternative. I think that's a different kind of feeling but I wouldn't know.
- courgette 4y agoNo, that’s MDMA. Alcohol would be pure raw joy from tomorrow.
- virtualritz 4y ago"In the days immediately following MDMA use, many users report experiencing negative after-effects, such as low mood and anxiety, sleep disturbances, or memory problems, known colloquially as the ‘comedown’ or ‘mid-week-blues’. However, the role of MDMA in these effects is unclear, as other factors associated with a night out, such as alcohol consumption, sleep deprivation and disturbance of circadian rhythms, and poor nutrition and hydration, can be major contributors. In contrast, only a small minority of people taking pure, measured doses of lab-grade MDMA in the daytime report experiencing negative physiological and psychological symptoms in the three to five days post-drug." Quoted from https://www.beckleyfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/MDMA_Roadmap_To_Regulation-Digital-Copy-0512.pdf https://www.beckleyfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/12... That PDF has sources for these statements. They match with my own experience micro-/minidosing MDMA. I never had any post use blues.
- dns_snek 4y agoThis may be true for responsible users who practice harm reduction, but it won't hold for habitual users or even occasional users taking 2-5x the recommended "safe" amount, which is extremely common with MDMA. You could make similar arguments for almost any drug, most of them will result in worse and longer lasting side effects when they're used habitually or in high doses. I think GP's assertion is generally valid, most MDMA users aren't responsible and there's a lot of work to be done on the harm reduction side of things.
