Remote work might help this situation, you don't need to make everyone (or anyone) aware of your quirks unless you want to. Work from "home" means you should be able to control most of your working environment to match the standards of your living environment. I will never go back to working in an office where I have 0 control over the working environment impacting my sense of sight, sound, and smell.
