What's in it for Japan and the Netherlands?
- simonblack 4y agoLoss of markets, leading to loss of those companies when the Chinese competitors, who are being subsidised by hundreds of billions*, pull ahead and out-compete them. Just as happened with a lot of the US manufacturers: the steel industry, the paper industry, the textiles industry, small-tools industry, etc, etc, etc. ----------------------- * The chinese electronics manufacturers were perfectly happy to 'buy-built' to the tune of several hundred billion dollars worth of US chips every year. If they can't buy 'ready-made' US chips, they'll have to develop their own semiconductor industry which will do to the US semiconductor manufacturers exactly what happened to the US paper manufacturers.
