I don't think it's too much of a leap to imagine the DMCA takedown requests might be coming from the Indian government rather than the BBC.
- sidibe 4y agoI think it's weird that BBC is so defensive about this, but DMCA takedown requests are only supposed to come from the copyright holder or someone they authorize
- wkat4242 4y agoBut they specifically say it comes from the BBC. I don't think archive.org would lie about this. And yes like the other reply says it must come from the copyright holder. It's a bit strange though because DMCA doesn't even apply to the UK or India.
