If your friends are judging each other's 'status' by their employer (or any other metric really) then IMHO they aren't worth keeping as 'friends'.

- gedy 4y agoLots of cultures heavily lean on status for peer groups, dating, marriage.
- almostnormal 4y agoSome cultures eat their fellow humans. Just because something is part of culture doesn't imply it is a good thing. But of course it is not easy to escape the system one is born into, let alone change it.
