- greenbit 4y agoI'd never even heard of Efinix until right here. Wondering what their toolchain is like - would be awesome if it's not a 600lb gorilla like big X's
- rasz 4y agoIt took Efinix almost 10 years from startup to releasing product, and it couldnt come out at a better time - even the smallest Xilinx fpga started selling for >$100 last year. Xilinx responded by more or less releasing a statement 'we arent interested in boosting manufacturing of those older cheaper established chips, you can expect 2-3 years for situation to stabilize .. or migrate to newer even more expensive product lines'. Good luck buying Spartan 6 XC6SLX16 at reasonable price :/ AMD is really dropping the ball here.
