These export controls should delay China by at least a decade, maybe more, during which time a fully on shored SC supply chain can be built within the US. War can then be safely waged without threat to these critical components on modern society
- simonblack 4y agoThese export controls should delay China by at least a decade, maybe more Wishful thinking. Don't forget the US can't rely on TSMC being in operation. That means the US and China are at roughly the same level of advanced chip manufacturing without TSMC's hefty contribution. China is allocating hundreds of billions towards the problem. The US is allocating tens of billions to the problem.
