Support for text to speech and podcast feed generation with extra tags for making sure emotions come across as the author intends and should be fully controllable by the author. I’m reading fiction at night but during the day I’m to busy to read (one year old son), but I have plenty of time to listen (dishes, laundry and so on). Text to speech has been good enough with tweaking for a while now (IBM had one with good tagging), but not without, so some effort would need to be put into it by the creator but this also creates an opportunity that cannot be stolen by browsers. Sarcasm, high or low pitch, enthusiastic or sad, these things can be controlled.

Tagging is too unreliable. Is there a search engine that crawls podcasts/videocasts and presents good discovery features for episodes? I'm tired of subscribing to feeds that only once in a while have interesting guests/subjects. There is no way of knowing if listening will involve topics I will be interested, we need some good disruption in podcastig and Spottyfi ain't it. Reading podcasts as text is not a way to go unless the user is hearing impaired. Turning audio into good blogposts with AI and some careful human editing could be good though if done correctly.
