Note that this is the statement by the 'Office of Attorney General' of California, a position to which Ms. Harris was elevated after direct appointments by her then partner, Willie Brown, thereby making issues of 'conflict of interest' considerably more problematic. Though I don't think we need to derail this conversation too much away from the fact that though these things do happen, belittling women (or men) arbitrarily for supposedly doing these kinds of things is not nice at all.
