  That would mean someone with BTC would have to sign up and put their money on a specific lightning chain before using the vending machine. That still has to share bitcoin's 1 KB/s throughput for the whole world and the transaction will cost more than what someone is buying. Good luck with that while trying to buy a bottle of water. No other cryptocurrency has this problem.
