Goldeneye was re-released to Switch and Xbox today. It has revamped controls, refresh rate, and resolution. I’ve yet to give it a try, but if you have Xbox’s game pass, it’s gratis. Switch apparently requires some kind of expansion pack.
I’m excited to see this out. If Switch can support it, hopefully Xbox can also arrange online multiplayer at some point.
- zenosmosis 4y agoIt's recently available on Xbox Cloud as well if anyone has that service. I played it a little bit last night.
- hjkl0 4y agoI tried it today, but the “revamped” controls are still fully broken on Switch. The left and right sticks work differently from every other fps game you know, and you shoot with B. On top of that, controls cannot be customized. Apparently it’s not an issue on the Xbox.
- ElCapitanMarkla 4y agoThe controls are terrible on the switch. I was so excited to fire it up earlier and just about biffed the switch out the window after 5 mins due to the stupid controls. You can change the control layout but for some bizarre reason they haven’t added one which makes sense on the switch.
- ElCapitanMarkla 4y agoI take it all back. I got used to the controls after 30 mins or so of playing now I’m half way through and loving it. Modern controls would still be a welcome addition though
- zahma 4y agoControls are not a problem, but I’m not sure I can handle more than 15 minutes of that music on repeat.
