Passkeys will be DOA. Even though they seem to be gaining traction at the moment (in the SV echo chamber), they will fade (remember 3D TVs?). Nobody wants to carry around an extra thing on their keychain just so they can login to stuff. They already have a phone, and every other thing that uses physical keys is currently in the process of moving to using apps on phones. Just like Yubikeys, they will be used for some high security applications, but will not gain general acceptance by users.
