Given the sentiment in online groups about how terrible PHP is, I doubt many younger engineers are opting to learn it at all. I know people that develop in PHP, but they have all been doing it for 10+ years now. For all the love Node/JS gets for having wonderful and well-designed projects, junior programmers still do laughable things with it.
