Yeah I'm aware, which is why I qualified that part of the statement. But every company I've ever worked at has issued MacBooks (which I'm not complaining about-

Yeah I'm aware, which is why I qualified that part of the statement. But every company I've ever worked at has issued MacBooks (which I'm not complaining about- I definitely prefer them overall), so it is a pervasive downside
Though also, the added complexity to my workflow is an order of magnitude more important to me than the memory usage/background overhead (especially now that we've got the M1 macs, which don't automatically spin up their fans to handle that background VM)
