Everybody seems to ignore the median case: `some·name` is a valid identifier in surprisingly large set of mainstream languages actually. At least it works just fine with C, C++, Javascript, PHP, Python and Ruby. However it doesn’t in any Shell I tried (bash, fish, zsh) nor C#, Go or Java.
