I didn't realize that Newsboat has Miniflux support! That means you can read your feeds from the console and keep everything in sync with the web interface or any other client software. I will try this out later.

- dewey 4y agoMiniflux is great, also because it supports the Fever and Google Reader API you can use it with almost any other client too.
- ZeroGravitas 4y agoI think I want to use this with newsboat, but the overlap in functionality between the two confuses me. When used together, newsboat is just a reader, right? You configure your feeds and feed filters via miniflux? I feel like in an ideal world they'd share a configurable backend for fetching and filtering feeds.
- toastal 4y agoOpenWRT has a Miniflux package too so you could feasibly run it on your router.
- deck4rd 4y agoRecently I set up a miniflux instance with the intention of using it as a backend for newsboat. I'd been using newsboat on its own for a while and I liked it, but wanted my feeds accessible on other devices. Turns out I liked miniflux's UI so much that I didn't even bother finishing setting up newsboat to be its frontend. Now I'm 100% miniflux, using the web app on both desktop and mobile.
