I realize that it was just an example but newer bluetooth TWS chipsets can do multi-point pairing just fine. Also, Google's Fast Pair API is currently being expanded beyond just pairing headphones. They aim for more than just surface-level UX. I doubt apps can stay on the playstore after asking for card details in a form. Google wants their cut too
