I tailor my resume to almost every company where I seem like I could fit. Especially since I’ve had a lot of jobs and a subset is more interesting to an employer than a different subset, and I like to keep page count to 2-3 pages max even though I could probably do a 7 page resume.
A major pain point in doing this is you lose track of what you said and to whom, especially if you include cover letters (which I also do).
What I learned that is helpful is to save every version of your resume/cover letter including any sources (latex), and timestamp/date these resumes. Do this even if you didn’t tweak your resume, space is cheap.
Anyway I found that to be real helpful to track what resume I’ve sent out and what it says.
