The ‘Enshittification’ of TikTok
- susiecambria 4y agoI have so many friends who use Amazon for everything and they don't, for whatever reason, understand/see/experience/care about the premise of the piece ("Here is how platforms die: First, they are good to their users; then they abuse their users to make things better for their business customers; finally, they abuse those business customers to claw back all the value for themselves. Then, they die."). They won't acknowledge, even, that search is terrible. Much beyond the Amazon discussion, though, and I would expect these friends' eyes to glaze over. Non-tech people overall need to be much smarter and aware of how these companies are using us.
