It's amazing to see how far these systems have come since my coverage from The Verge in 2014, where I built a multi-node Parallella cluster. The main problem I had then was that there was no of the shelf GPU friendly library to run on it, so I ended up working with the Gray Chapel project to get some distributed vectorization support.
