Also working in games but as a graphics programmer and I agree with a lot of this, working with the other disciplines is really cool. Once the game releases its really satisfying to watch people playing it on twitch and seeing stuff you worked on in it. IMO working in games can be a really good balance of fun/still making good money if you end up at a good studio.
