How does this impact the repair market for Macbooks?
My partner has an M1 MBP with very minor liquid damage on the keyboard that took out most of a row of keys. Apple wants to replace most of the computer for something that I assumed would be $75 in parts, and wants roughly $750 (most of the price of the computer).
Will these scrap macbooks help reduce the parts prices for 3rd party repair shops? Or are parts like the keyboard now locked to the computer?
- google234123 4y ago$75 in parts + 700$ in labor + no guarantee the fix works
