Every time I've been laid off, by companies large and small, I was at least sat down and given the news in person. Google's method is a new and growing type of nasty.
- nh23423fefe 4y agoMeaningless distinction. You want some functionary to pat you on the back as you leave? Why waste 12000 * x minutes on people who don't work there anymore? > Please virtue signal that I matter even though you just fired me.
- hw-guy 4y agoIt's symbolic. Even though I won't work there any more, at least I'm regarded as a human being in my last minutes in the building. It also gives me a chance to pick up my personal items, say goodbye to my co-workers, and exchange personal emails or phone numbers now that our corporate ones are kaput.
